Try office.microsoft.com, and look under the Templates tab. There are plenty of nice free templates.

Question by lda: Pre-packaged website for a small business (e.g. auto repair shop) to use as a “template”?
Are there vendors who sell prepackaged website solutions for small businesses? If so, please provide links.

An acquaintance of mine is an independent auto mechanic. He has asked me to help him put together a simple website to help publicize his shop …. something on the order of “brochure-ware”.

My first thought was to look around at existing websites and get permission to reuse/borrow by looking at the “source code” with View + Source. I’ve been the volunteer webmaster for a number of websites over the years, and am familiar with html, css, and php.

However, I got to wondering if there are vendors with pre-packaged websites that might be a better way to go. My impression is that such a “bundle” would have a variety of “templates” which you would customize for your specific situation (phone number, address, pictures, services provided, etc.)

The proposed website wouldn’t be actually selling anything, so it wouldn’t need to handle credit cards, rma’s, or a “shopping cart”.

or try a google search—>web templates

but the best is microsoft office live since its free, i dont know if they have automotive template though.

Question by thomas: im trying to find a template that i saw in school today for microsoft word?
i was bored and looking at the microsoft word templates at school today and i saw one that had a mostly orange theme and it has this large orange * in the background.. i was hoping someone can look at their microsoft word and see where its under (like under newsletters or applications or brochures) and tell me because my microsoft word is older so i have to downloadd it manually

If you don’t find the exact template you may be able to just create it yourself using Watermark instructions.

If you search online, you will find a number of design templates that you can download.

Other templates are also available online, but require that you print your designs with a specific printer.

You can certainly “design” fliers and brochures in Word, but bear in mind that Word is not a design program, per se. You would be better off using a legitimate design software program such as Quark or Creative Suite. Both are Adobe products and can be used on either a Mac or PC.

If money is an issue for you and you decide to search on Google for free templates, you might try using the following search parameters:

“free downloadable brochure templates”"downloadable templates for business use” “free design templates for small businesses.” I’m sure some combination of free, downloadable and templates will yield you some results worth considering.

Well the Microsoft website has some templates put up by users for churches: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=church&av=TPL000 You don’t exactly say what the project is , but if it is a standard tri-fold brochure, simply use a standard brochure template http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=brochure&av=TPL000 and then click the “clip art” tab and find some religious clip art to replace the default graphics.

Question by Los Amigos de Bonsai: i need to know how to design a brochure. do you have a template for a one page two-sided color brochure?
I am not sure whether to use one full sheet like a magazine page ad, or a single sheet that is folded twice so it has three “column-like” frontice panels on each side, or a single sheet folded once so there are two panels on either side. I have the Copy in mind (more or less) and would like to include some photos. I am working with WIndows XP, Word, etc. I only have Acrobat Reader. Does anyone have a template doc or spreadsheet I can use as a basis to work with? Many thanks

It’s not really productive to use Word. If you have Office, you probably have Microsoft Publisher, which is far more effective for creating brochures. You may need to find a tutorial if you haven’t used it before, but it’s easy to pick up.

You’re restricted primarily to the design of the template. You’re at the mercy of the expertise of the person who designed it. If you happen to have a poorly designed template, you’re going to have a poorly designed brochure. When using a template, it’s also likely that it’s been used many times before. Therefore you will be lacking uniqueness.

I am student in sweden and i hold MCSE CCNA with 8 years computer experience,

i live in small city, and i want to make little money by fixing the local ppl and companies computer and network.

I was looking for to make an Ad and print and distribute it. i want to fit everything in one page . i was looking for easy solution if i can find a template like that online. i tried googling but couldn’t find. i dont want to spend time to install adobe in design design it myself.

i am looking for template so i can change the words into swedish and print it and ready to go.
